Counting down the Tools Needed for Scrapbooking

What are the items needed when scrapbooking? It’s none other than the paper. You don’t even need to have the fanciest or most expensive scrapbooking paper. All you need to do is look around your house – go through your drawers, look for old gift wraps, cards, packaging paper, magazines, old papers and you can even use newspapers. All these can be used to spice up your scrapboking page. Or, you can purchase some specialty papers like patterned ones or new gift wraps.

Additional Items Needed for Your Scrapboooking Page

As much as possible, use different kinds of scissors such as a pair which lets you create zigzaged edges on the material that will be cut. However, it is still possible for you to use a regular pair of scissors for you to have a creative scrapbooking session. Scissors will help you trim papers, cut shapes, create rounded edges from the printed photos and do a number of other things. The aforementioned craft scissors which create shaped edges come in handy if you want to give interesting trims on the paper used for scrapbooking. Doing these decorative trims using regular scissors will be quite a challenge so craft scissors is a much better and easier option.
Adhesives

Any adhesive which can be used to paste any type of material to your scrapbook falls under this category. One of the most important is glue. You can also include clear or colored scotch tape and double-sided tape for gluing two photos together minus the mess. Staplers can be used to more permanently stick two items together and to add a creative touch, use colored staple wires.

Putting the Finishing Touches to Your Scrapbook

Cut-out papers are the usual decorations for scrapbook page ideas. But sometimes, cut-out shapes need some outlines or drawings to make them look interesting. For instance, you can’t say that a circle is a ball if you will not add some details to make it look like a ball. Drawing some figures on the pages will spice up your design as well. Aside from pens and pencils, you can also go for markers, color pens, crayons, colored pencisl and pastel.

Should you decide to buy premade scrapbook pages, you still need these basic and essential scrapbooking materials. Sure, purchasing pre-made pages can make your scrapbooking easire and faster. But knowing that you spent all your creativity, time and effort into putting together your mementos into a lovely scrapbook is what will make those memories last a lifetime.
